Help a Neighbor Rise Above Homelessness
Donation protected
This is our friend and Frederick, Maryland neighbor, Leo Ingram. Leo is a kind, affable fixture around Frederick with whom we all enjoy talking, walking, and sharing meals. Unfortunately, Leo has unexpectedly found himself homeless at age 70. He had been living with a relative who died suddenly in October, forcing Leo to stay in a homeless shelter. Leo is disabled from working with caustic chemicals and has been unable to work for many years. His small disability stipend is not enough for a studio apartment in the Frederick area where he has lived his entire life. Leo is on a waiting list to receive low income senior housing but due to the length of the waiting list it will be at least a year (likely longer) until an affordable place is available for him. Our GoFundMe campaign seeks to partially subsidize Leo’s rent until the senior housing is available so he can move out of the homeless shelter. Your help would mean so much to Leo!! He is having a really difficult time in the homeless shelter and hasn't been able to sleep so it is really affecting his health. Our goal is to raise $4800 to provide Leo with $400 each month so he can afford a studio apartment and get out of the shelter.
