Today, my family experienced a devastating house fire that took everything from my brother, his wife, my goddaughter/niece, and her boyfriend. In a matter of moments, their home and all of their belongings were completely destroyed. They escaped with their lives, but they now have nothing more than the clothes they were wearing.
Nothing from the home was salvageable. Everyday necessities, personal items, memories, and important documents are all gone. Most heartbreakingly, my goddaughter—who is in her final semester of nursing school and set to graduate this May—lost her laptop, school supplies, and everything she needs to complete her education.
In addition to losing their home, my goddaughter also lost her beloved 6-month-old puppy in the fire. The emotional toll of this loss has been overwhelming, adding deep grief to an already unimaginable tragedy.
As they begin the long process of rebuilding, any support toward pet-related expenses, memorial items, or future adoption costs would mean so much as they heal from this loss. Every act of kindness—big or small—helps bring comfort during this painful time.
We are asking our community, friends, and anyone who feels moved to help in any way they can. No donation is too small. If you are a local business, restaurant, store, or organization willing to donate resources, gift cards, clothing, school supplies, pet-related support, or assistance of any kind, please reach out to me directly.
We are incredibly grateful for prayers, shares, and any support during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with our family when they need it most
