ByTown Cup 2023 in support of Kind Space

The ByTown Cup is back, aka the best weekend of the year! What is the ByTown Cup? A bunch of good people playing bad hockey, raising money for charity and building a positive and healthy hockey culture that's welcoming to everyone. Our first event WAY back in 2019 raised $8073.44 for the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre! 4 years later, the world looks a lot different than it did in 2019. It only takes a few minutes of scanning the headlines (sports included) to see that what we need right now is a serious injection of positive energy, acceptance and kindness. That is why we have selected Kind Space as our charity for the 2023 ByTown Cup. What is Kind Space? Kind Space is a local charity committed to providing accessible resources, events, social, and educational programming to celebrate and support people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions. A physical place where they can just be. That’s all. Just be. No pressure. No expectations. No demands, obligations, responsibilities. Whoever they are – even if they don’t fully understand who they are. They also provide personal and peer support to understand and inhabit their particular identities with confidence and courage, whatever kind of identity it is. These services are usually provided to people in their most physically, mentally and emotionally vulnerable moments. Learn more about the drop-in groups, events and other great work Kind Space does in our community here. How can you help? Every bit counts, we appreciate all donations big and small. Help us spread the word and share this link. Our goal is 5K$, but with your help maybe we can do even better.
