My name is Alicia, and I am hoping to raise funds on behalf of my dad, Brian. I always see fundraisers with beautifully written paragraphs of context, but now that I am in this situation myself, I am finding myself with little to say that feels meaningful.

Brian was recently diagnosed with advanced metastatic cancer, and has been given an extremely poor prognosis. Devastation is insufficient to describe what we are feeling, and so are turning to our extended community for assistance during this time. Any amount raised is going to go towards his medical care, legal costs, and ultimately end of life expenses.

Anyone who knows my dad knows that he is tough, a fighter, and the hardest worker any of us have ever met. We want, as a family, to remain as optimistic as possible, but we are also realistic and want to help ensure that he has everything taken care of as he manages this serious diagnosis.
