A Million Steps For Peace

Donation protected
Hi Facebook Family and Friends!
I'm doing a fundraiser for my favorite good cause, the

Africa Vulnerable Children Project

and I'm asking for your help.  Click on the link above to read all about the great work folks from the Zen Monastery Peace Center are doing in Kantalomba.  It is truly inspiring!
I've decided to combine two of my favorite things--fitness and service--into one great fundraiser I'm calling A Million Steps For Peace.  Here's how it works:  Every year on October 4th, the Zen Monastery Peace Center hosts the annual Bridge Walk, a fun get together and fundraising event for the Africa Vulnerable Children Project.  Fire season permitting, I plan on attending the Bridge Walk, and between now and then I commit to walking 1,000,000 steps--that's roughly 91,000 steps per week (or 13,000 steps per day) for the next 11 weeks. With my 1,000,000 steps and your support, I hope to raise $2000.00 for the kids in Kantalomba.
How cool is that!  A fitness goal that will greatly benefit some lovely people across the globe--AND an excuse to buy one of those groovy new pedometer bracelet dealies to help me track my progress.  Win-Win-Win!  If you feel moved to give, simply give however much you like at this gofundme site.  Every little bit helps, so $1.00 is not too little, and 100% of the funds contributed go directly to the Africa Project (I purchased the pedometer with my own funds and depending on how fire season goes, I plan on contributing an additional $1000.00 of my own to the cause).  For anybody who contributes $80.00 or more I will make you a bracelet with an inspiring word of your choice (just FB message me or email me with your wrist size, color preferences, and word).  Thank you all so much for your love and support!
