We are Fulfillment in Training (F.I.T.), a non-profit organization based in South Phoenix, Arizona. We empower and interconnect communities through our holistic approach to health and wellbeing. We provide fitness programs, community empowerment and enrichment activities, and we organize opportunities to bridge the gaps between community members and the law enforcement and elected government officials who serve the needs of our neighborhoods.

We empower individuals with the opportunities and support they need to align their personal health, as well as the health of their neighborhoods, to reflect the strength, diversity, and limitless potential of the individuals, and the community, when united as a whole. We strive to create safer communities and neighborhoods that reflect equal treatment and human rights, and minimize negative interactions and tensions between law enforcement and government officials in the communities they serve.

Utilizing fitness, we seek to remove cultural and linguistic barriers and foster direct dialogue in identifying the needs of citizens in promoting safety and community integration. Our fitness and community engagement programs bring law enforcement and government officers together with the members of the communities they serve to afford everyone an opportunity to dispel biases and stereotypes in the interest of our shared humanity. Further, our organization provides individuals opportunities for their voices to be heard in establishing solutions that directly impact their lives.

At this time, we need your help to fund the expansion of our services and community reach.

We are raising $150,000 to:

* Increase outreach and engagement in our communities through forums designed to identify and implement transformative solutions.

* Support programs we have in place that address the risks and needs of low-income communities.

* Expand our highly successful, FREE, community fitness and wellness programs where individuals of diverse backgrounds unite (including officers and government officials) to build trusting relationships in a team-focused environment.

* Allocate grant funds for education and certifications in health and/or wellness fields to increase employability and further career opportunities.

Your personal contributions and investments are essential to our success as a nonprofit organization. We have started a GoFundMe to help us reach our goals. Any donation to support our mission and goals is greatly appreciated.

How we use our funding:

● Provide on-going, free, weekly fitness classes, and healthy living and life skills workshops in our training facility that shares space with local sports teams, athletes and our police fitness program.

● Organize neighborhood community service activities such as: town halls and forums, homeless outreach, park cleanups, and other community enrichment activities that connect our community members to services, as well as opportunities to directly engage with local representatives in addressing gaps and working together toward solutions.

● Partner with local police and other first responders and safety officers to create direct dialogue and shared activities that forge relationships between the people in the community and the officers responsible for helping the community reduce crime, increase safety and create a thriving, and supportive community.

● Engage youth in K-12 schools in workshops, activities, and in-school rallies to empower kids to create a healthy mindset, build a safe and supportive community within and outside their school, and incorporate healthy playtime and exercise at every age.

● Provide free summer and year-round exercise and health programs for kids in low income and underserved communities in partnership with the City of Phoenix Housing Department.

Currently, we are sponsored by and operate out of South Mountain High School with a membership of over 300 members. Our team, partners and trainers are Community Activists, Officers, Community Members, and Leaders, Government Officials, Athletes, Certified Physical Trainers, and other members who share our vision and values.

FIT’s Foundational Pillars:

Embodiment of Community Health

Community Appreciation and Empowerment

Community Integration and Opportunity

We strive to bridge many social and economic gaps our lower income communities face daily, putting them and their children at risk. We are working to become a reliable, centralized resource for South Phoenix communities that provides free health and fitness programs in a safe and fun family atmosphere. We are building a team that is dedicated to community outreach and support to promote mental and physical wellness. And we believe in empowering people to thrive by providing opportunities and activities for community members to develop a sense of ownership and pride in their neighborhoods and communities.

In order to further our mission, we need your help!

Goals for 2019:

Expand our Fulfillment In Training Program in schools that empowers kids to create a healthy mindset, build a safe and supportive culture within and outside their school, and incorporate healthy playtime and exercise at every age. Our goal is to reach 2500 K-12 students by the end of 2019 and have active programs in schools across the Phoenix Metro by the end of 2020 .

Expand our team to provide free daily exercise classes for people of all ages and skill level, and expand our summer fitness camps for children and teens.

Expand our Fulfillment In Training program with local police and representatives to provide more support for community progress. Hold consistent forums to discuss issues, implement solutions and map progress. Build sustainable, lasting solutions within the community with individuals looking to be a part of positive change and progress.

Stretch Goal:

Obtain a larger facility space to open a FIT Community Health and Wellness Center to host free daily workouts, provide a drop-in place for health and wellness resources for those in need, and be a positive and safe location to host community enrichment events for individuals and families of all ages.
