Father of 3 Needs Help
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Nicholas Bolin, I am the father of these 3 amazing children that this cause is ultimately about. Unfortunately, when I was divorced from their mother almost 5 years ago now, she was granted full custody. Out of those last 5 years, and completely out of my control, I can only count the many of times I was able to talk to, or actually see my kids on my fingers and toes.
Fast Forward to now.
Three weeks ago, November 19th, 2021, I made an emergency 5000 mile round trip trek (The cost of flying was over $2,000+ which I didn’t have) in order to pick up my children (2 boys and 1 girl, ages 13-7). I had received a phone call November 18th, that they had been taken from their mother and placed into foster care. My kids would stay in foster care until I could drive several states away (2400 miles from Oregon to Indiana). My kids have experienced a lot of trauma and abuse in the care of their mother and will need trauma focused counseling.

That all being said, I am in need of an attorney to file for full custody because I DO NOT want my kids to go back through any of that abuse EVER again. There will be a lot of court fees, filing fees, and attorney fees that me and my kids will need help with, not to mention Christmas is coming soon (15 days).
I have had to take 3 weeks off of work at this point, in order to travel to pickup my kids, getting them registered for school, and court appointments, appointments with DCS, and Guardian Ad Litem, etc. I have put in a request to my boss to work part time (between school hours) and/or work on days that I don’t have court appointments or other appointments for the kids. After a phone call with my boss a few days ago, I was told that they will not let me work with an adjusted schedule. I was told that there is “plenty of full time work available”, and they “don’t do part time work” and to “call when I get all of this is settled” with my kids and “when I’m ready to work full time”.
My work hours are typically 5am - 4pm, most days are even later. There are no other work hours available in the construction industry, unless there is overnight work, which is rare. So, on top of everything else, I am not able to work at this time and I am looking at other possible opportunities I may have in the mean time, even if I have to flip burgers for minimum wage. Overall, it still puts me and my kids in our own emergency situation.
I am actively applying for resources as far as getting insurance for them, more clothes for them, and anything else that they need.
Please consider contributing what you can, even if it is just sharing the link. No matter how big or small it is, it is going to help us get through this one step at a time. My ultimate goal is to get full custody of them so that they may be able to live their lives in a supportive, loving, caring, and happy home.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My kids and I will be forever grateful, my kids especially.
