Buying our first dream townhome

Hi! My name is Kayla and I'm from Alberta, Canada. I'm creating this fundraiser asking for some help to reach a goal for a down payment of the 5% for our first small townhouse to call home forever, and perhaps surprise my mom with this support from every donor who can help from the heart :)

My mom had always worked her whole life, since she was 12 years old. She had support and never doubt a moment, and as a single mom, after suffered a domestic violence herself, she kept going and care for her mom, my sister and myself for us to be healthy, well educated, and put food on the table. She had always care and has always gone far and beyond and teach us to be always honest, humble, and doing the right things. Despite her hard work as a single mom, her physical illness and the deepest pain she has been through, the severe domestic violence, the discrimination she had received from society, she always manages to make it through her day. In her jobs, her pay has never been fair, but fair to at least help us to pay rent. While her last job was laid off, she undergo a lot of health issues, including heart problems, hypertension tumour, liver fibrosis, uncontrollable diabetes, mental health and more.

I'm 23 years old with various types of disabilities, including severe anxiety, depression, PTSD, mental health, health issues. I have a service dog who helps me with my depression and how I function everyday. I've been bullied through all my schoolhood, from friends to teachers to principals. Despite having a learning disabilities, I graduated and received my high school diploma. I'm currently studying Graphic Design which is a free program to help those with disabilities.
Me and my mom are both suicide survivors, regardless how dark the world is turning, how hurtful society acts, how tough everyday gets, even when we feel that this life has no point, we always stick together, and we are always there for each other!

In 2023, our old home that we rented for 22 years had to be sold due to the owner needing money for his family member. We had struggled to find a place to call home. We found a small apartment to have a roof over our heads temporarily. When we moved, I went through a sever anxiety attacks, not knowing if we will be okay, if we will have to move again, feeling unaware of my surroundings. Thankfully, with time and patience, I manage to feel comfortable in our new place.

Then after a year being in the apartment, month by month, we found out that people living in our surrounding area, top, side and bottom of the apartment, they smoked heavily marijuana and my grandma got very ill, myself, including my dog, we were not thriving well in the environment. We were very desperate looking for a place again but unfortunately the rents are extremely high, it's very hard to find a place that is comfort, clean and affordable. Suddenly, my grandma passed away last November due to the condition of the apartment that we were living in.

Our rent is extremely high for what it is, and we had been looking around for a fair place but owners and landlord wants x amount of money monthly for dogs, which increases the rent near $2,700-$3,000 dollars, or a specific breed which is something we can't afford. So, currently, we are living in an apartment, which gives us a place to sleep, eat, and stay warm.

I took matters into my own hands and decided that it will be best to try to purchase a permanent small townhouse to call home forever. As I grow older, I need a home to live, to thrive, to survive, to support my disabilities, to ensure my mom knows that her daughter has a secure place to live, and that she can also thrive her life with me.
My mom was never told that you could save up money to buy a home. Even though it's not her fault, being a low income family, being a single mom, having one benefit to support each other, and not enough money saved to go towards buying a home, I'm asking for help. I'm asking you to donate what you can to help me reach my goal for the amount of 5% of a down payment to go towards a small home.

I'm thankful and very grateful for the donations, sincerely, THANK YOU This will be a blessing for me and my mom, we will never forget this unforgettable help and gift from each of you! MANY BLESSINGS FROM HEAVEN
