Hey Everyone,
Carly Dodgen here asking for a hand. The last couple of years has been rough on our family. Many of you know that I moved to St. Petersburg to help out my Dad as he passed away from cancer. I haven't yet returned to a place of financial stability since then. My family and I have been overcoming a lot of obstacles and heartache. Yet again, cancer has come for the Dodgens, but this time it came to our good boy Merle.
I noticed three weeks ago that Merle's lymph nodes were swollen, so I immediately took him to the emergency vet. $1000 in vet bills later, we learned he had lymphoma. Unfortunately, it isn't curable for most dogs, but he is so young, only five. I want to try chemotherapy to see if we can get his cancer into remission. In doing so, he will be with us for another year or two. All poor Merle wants in the world is to be with us, and we as a family could not have gone through all that we have without him being there as a spark of joy in what sometimes seemed like a dark place. Chemotherapy is expensive, and we recently spent about 5000 getting Merle CCL surgery on his knee. I wish I had known beforehand that his bum knee was the least of his problems.
Please help out my family if you can. I know the Holidays are behind us, and money is tight for everyone. Anything you can do to help will go towards giving him treatment so that we may show a good boy a great time until he has to say goodbye. We thank you in advance for your generosity and for helping spare us more heartbreak, at least for a short time. We could use a break.
