Buy a wheelchair accessible van for my Dad!

Hi, my name is Paxton East, and I am raising money to buy my dad a fully wheelchair-accessible van. (It’s a secret though, so don’t tell my parents anything)

I am providing services (power washing, lawncare, fencing, general handy man services) in the local area (Baldwin county, AL and surrounding areas) in exchange for donations. I work 8-5 each weekday, so these services will be provided in the evenings and weekends.

In 2003, at the age of 36, my father, Mike East, had a massive brain stem stroke, which left him within an inch of death. Miraculously, my dad not only survived but survived without any mental handicaps. However, he is now paralyzed on the right side of his body, so he relies on a wheelchair to get around.

For the last few years, my dad (now 57) has been getting around without a wheelchair-adapted van. He just uses his left arm to throw up his wheelchair in the back of his regular minivan.

Unfortunately, with all that load on a single arm, he’s started having shoulder issues. Without a vehicle upgrade, I don’t see the issues going away.

My goal: to raise $75,000 for a brand-new wheelchair-accessible van (they’re not cheap, sadly). This would mean my dad can continue to live an independent life, and it would ease the load on both him and my mom daily. This has been a goal of mine for a long time, to allow myself to be used as an avenue for the Lord to bless my parents.
