Butterfly Garden in Memory of Justin Sharek

My name is Kristen Appleman and I am creating a beautiful butterfly and pollinator garden on behalf of the Allegheny River Trail Park. I envision it as a retreat for peaceful reflection for the entire community to enjoy. The garden is dedicated to my friend and classmate Justin Sharek who we lost tragically earlier this year. It will be made up entirely of plants and flowers native to Allegheny County and will provide support for multiple local species of butterfly throughout their life cycles. I have designed the garden with a variety of flowers that will bloom from early spring through fall. Completion of this work will help me earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
