Butterfly Garden at the Cunningham Garden
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jay Sekhar from Troop 3 Milton, and I have been looking to start my Eagle Scout Project. I went to elementary school at Cunningham Elementary School. Part of the program they did there was teaching how to garden by using the Cunningham garden. The garden was a special place for me as a kid and as my Eagle Scout Project, I am planning to lead a team to renovate and clean out the garden. I want children that attend Cunningham Elementary to get the same experience that I did. I will work with experts to select native perennials and shrubs to attract butterflies, and redesign the space. To achieve this I will lead a team of volunteers to clean the existing space which has been overtaken with weeds and decaying garden boxes. We will clean the litter inside and outside the garden, remove weeds, remove non native plants and verify that the irrigation system works. Additionally, we will fundraise money to help plant new perennials and shrubs and also add new mulch to the space. I am hoping to rebuild the garden beds using either steel or cedar, which will last much longer than the existing garden beds.
Your donation will help fundraise funds for mulch, compost, wood chips, garden beds, shrubs/perennials, food and water for volunteers, lumber, gardening gloves, yard waste bags and trash bags, tarps, and other necessary tools.
All donations are being raised on behalf of Cunningham Elementary School. Any remaining funds will be donated to Cunningham.
Any donation would be very much appreciated!
