I am running my first half-marathon in a few days time (following recent leg surgery) to raise money for Butterflies Bereavement Support. Butterflies provides low-cost bereavement counselling to adults in Hampshire & The Isle of Wight.

The service cannot run without external donations, grants and fundraising efforts. Without services such as ourselves, many of the people we support will have no access to low-cost bereavement counselling. The highest we ask is £20 a session, but one third donate £10 a session and one third cannot afford to donate at all.

I am running to help Butterflies continue to provide supporting those who cannot afford standard counselling prices.

(I have paid for my place myself and I am the only paid (part time) employee in the charity so donations do not go to big bonuses or the cost of entry)
