Burpee Broad Jump 48 Hour Challenge (World Record Attempt)

My names Ollie.

After hearing about Matt being diagnosed with MND it struck a chord in me.

To put a long story short. My old man (Jon Russell, aka Jack) & Matt are old rugby friends.

I heard a lot of great stories growing up and Matt’s name was mentioned many times.

A great rugby player and even better bloke, my dad would say.

After I experienced both parents going through cancer & losing my dad to cancer over 6 years ago I was extremely lost and couldn’t find a way to navigate my life.

Until I started my fitness journey after playing rugby myself.

Enduring challenges like Ironmans, Ultra marathons and other unique events for charities.

I found myself and exactly what I wanted to dedicate my life to!

Which is making a difference and leaving a legacy like my dad, a true gentleman left behind.

Another true gentleman like Matt, who would put other people first and would go out of his way to help others in need.

Even though they are going through hell themselves, they seem to find the energy to effortlessly put other people’s struggles ahead of their own.

My dad would tell me to do things for the little guys.

The people who don’t have a voice and need someone to step up.

Cancer research is a huge charity with so much awareness.

So that’s why I know he would be telling me to go full steam ahead with the Matt Gahallgher Foundation to shine a light on the people affected by this disease.

The reason behind the burpee broad jump challenge is to show…

No matter how many times life knocks you down, you get back up and jump into the next obstacle with a smile on your face!
