FAMILIES IN BURNSVILLE, NC NEED HELP POST HURRICANE HELENE

After personally witnessing and experiencing hurricane Helene’s deep devastation from our neighborhood in Burnsville, NC we are asking for you to open your heart and see and hear what is still unfolding for so many.

Thousands of families living amongst the vanished roads of western North Carolina have lost homes, cars, all their belongings, animals, love letters, pictures, memorabilia and so much more. We personally sat and watched neighbors homes lifted off the foundation, refrigerators, cars, their life's work being swallowed whole by the Cane River. We were there when three individuals and their dogs escaped out of their apartment just before it was flooded.

Many who call Burnsville home as it was for generations before them are faithful to their families, their beloved animals and their land and do not want to leave. Burnsville has heart and its heart needs healing. We can all do our part and I hope and wish these words express how your donation can help.

It is real that many will continue living without power and water until after 2025. This alone comes with great and real life challenges.

With the plummeting cold temperatures of winter quickly approaching, so many families need assistance. We all have to keep our thoughts and actions uplifting others to hang on and know generosity will continue to pour over them. Holding onto God’s word can help push away from one’s mind, fear, depression, weakness, and helplessness, and rather fill one’s heart with kindness, compassion, faith, trust, hope and LOVE.

The storm abruptly grabbed on its fierce path so much from so many and yes, they will rise above, but they need your help.

NO VEHICLES now means NO DRIVING for Carol to her cancer treatments, Big Joe has a son with a broken back and he can only get into town now when a neighbor can offer him a ride and Dorie is unable to drive her daughter and grandbabies who depended on her car or her elderly mom to appointments. These are just a few of the many stories of people here who lost their transportation.

Often when going through such a tragedy it is difficult for people to ask for what they deserve and need. We are attempting to be a soft yet strong voice for so many that are continuing to get through day to day without power and water. As you can imagine putting yourself in their shoes even for a minute, this is not easy.

All donations will be directly used for:

1) 5 -8 all wheel or 4 Wheel Drive vehicles

2) 30 to 50 solar generators

3) an abundance of dry firewood

4) multiple gas cards to keep fuel generators going through the frigid and long winter

These items are a necessity and we desperately need your help. ✨
