My husband Dan has a vertebrae that has been swiss-cheesed by a hemangioma. It's not cancerous but he needs to take care of it or it will start to degrade the vertebrae and the spine itself. We are moving from California to Oklahoma so we can afford everyday living and everyday care for this ourselves. I have herniated discs, diabetes, and asthma but I'm doing well enough to take care of him myself. Self sufficiency is a good thing. That's what we were planning.

Since we could not move ourselves, we contracted a moving company. He asked for more information on renting a truck to do it ourselves and literally over a hundred calls started pouring in. This company made a low bid but sounded professional so my husband chose them.
We honestly tried to communicate the volume and degree of help we needed to move. When the low bid initially rise, we were not that surprised. But the calls and raises kept coming. What started to be $8,000 eventually became $24,500. The foreman asked us to read our contact. The contract kept changing. And they didn't take everything I needed to have out by the end of March (2 days).
What we are taking out of our retirement is taking an extremely long time to transfer due to the banking situation. And all the expenses quickly straining our retirement funds. This is just a disaster.
