Our basketball community is hurting… but we are not giving up.

We have been at the same site since 1963 , we operate out of a single indoor stadium with a timber floor and multiple outdoor courts, which are now ruined. For the 3rd time in 15 years, devastating floodwaters have torn through Bundaberg Basketball, leaving behind destruction that has once again stopped our games, silenced our courts and impacted hundreds of players, families and volunteers.

What you see in the photos is heartbreaking, courts underwater, flooring destroyed, equipment ruined and facilities covered in mud and debris.

This isn’t just a building. This is where our kids grow in confidence, where friendships are built, where families connect and where our community comes together, this is the home of Basketball in Bundaberg.

Right now, our stadium and outdoor courts are damaged and we need your help!

From QHoops for our beginners, our junior competitions all the way to senior walking Basketball, every level of basketball in Bundaberg has been affected.

We knew flooding was coming… Our volunteers and local businesses stepped up immediately, moving equipment, lifting what we could, doing everything possible to prepare.

But the water still came. Floodwaters rose into our stadium, covering courts, soaking flooring and leaving long-term damage that we now must repair before we can safely run our competitions.

Our Community is Strong, even in this devastation, we have seen something incredible:

This is what Bundaberg Basketball is all about, but now, we need help.

To get back on the court, we urgently need funds for:

   •   Court and flooring repairs

   •   Facility restoration

   •   Safety checks and reopening costs

Without this support, recovery will take much longer and our players will continue to miss out. Together, we can bring it back.

Looking beyond recovery, our long-term vision is to create something lasting for Bundaberg and the wider Central Queensland region. We aim to relocate and develop a modern, multi-purpose sporting complex that can serve as a hub for basketball and community activity. This facility would provide a safe, inclusive and high-quality space for players, families, schools and visitors to come together ensuring that Bundaberg Basketball continues to grow, inspire and bring people together for generations to come.
