Build A Park Where ALL Kids Can Play Together

Tax deductible
Become a Partner in the Development of EmPOWERment Park, a brand new, one-of-a-kind, socially inclusive Park and Playground! Groundbreaking just took place on October 3, 2022. Imagine a place where everyone can play together in a challenging and dynamic environment, regardless of age or ability!

Where is this happening? In the Arden Arcade Area of Sacramento County, 1124 Bell Street, between Hurley Way and Northrop Avenue, on 1.43 acres—1.3 acres of surplus land donated by SMUD.

EmPOWERment Park will include custom power-themed accessible play structures, integrated sensory experiences, picnic and BBQ areas, shade structures, community garden beds, a public art display, a sensory water area, open space/turf, a court game area, a Bankshot court, off-street accessible parking stalls, self-cleaning restrooms, landscaping, and safety lighting.

Financing for this incredible project is coming from a highly competitive State Grant. In addition to the land donated by SMUD, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency is funding a new sidewalk around the park and wheelchair curb-cuts along parts of Bell Street. Sacramento County District 3 Supervisor Rich Desmond and the Mission Oaks Recreation and Park District are also making significant contributions along with many citizen donations over the last two years from the “Big Day of Giving.” Although a total of $8,000,000 has been raised to date, the non-profit Sacramento Parks Foundation (an all-volunteer board and zero staff) finds itself short by
$500,000 to complete the project without eliminating some of the most important features like “shade sails and the state-of-the-art sensory wall.”

Please help us reach the finish line by considering a donation of any amount. All donations are 100% tax deductible, Tax ID # 94-3291754.

We look forward to keeping in touch with you and will notify all donors of the park's Grand Opening Celebration!!

Don’t miss the fun, be a part of this spectacular development and outreach to our “community kids.”
