Building the Future Shock Foundation
Powerful. Presence. United. Power is claiming your space. Presence is standing in it without apology. United is refusing to stand alone. White Cane Day began as a community gathering. Now we are officially launching the Future Shock Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to visibility, accessibility, and community for blind and low-vision individuals.
After organizing a Disney meetup that brought together blind and sighted people, I experienced firsthand the power of community. For the first time, I stopped feeling alone, and I saw how much it meant for others to connect as well. That experience inspired me to create something bigger — a foundation where no one has to stand alone, and where visibility and accessibility are at the heart of everything we do.
Your donation is helping us do this the right way. Funds raised will go toward legal formation and nonprofit registration, filing fees and compliance setup, organizational infrastructure, event planning and accessibility programming, and launching White Cane Day as our flagship activation under the foundation. This is about building something sustainable, not just hosting an event. Isolation ends here. Silence ends here. The shift begins here.
Every donation matters. Founding Supporters will receive permanent placement on our Founders Wall, exclusive behind-the-scenes access as we build the foundation, planning updates and sneak peeks, twice-weekly public recognition, a private event recap video, and access to a Founders-only virtual Q&A. This isn’t about perks. It’s about helping lay the first brick. Power in action. Presence in every room. People who refuse to stand alone. The foundation is being built now. And the names on that wall will be the ones who made it possible.
