Building Safe Spaces for Queer Muslims in London

Dear friends, allies, and supporters,
We are proud to announce the launch of our GoFundMe to continue building safe spaces for queer Muslims in London, Ontario. As a grassroots group made up of volunteers, the London’s Queer Muslims Association (LQMA) has been relying on generous financial support from local organizations to fund the programming we host for queer Muslims. We have been dedicated to providing a space where queer Muslims can come together, celebrate their uniqueness, and build lasting connections.
We are looking to raise our own funds to sustain our events and gatherings for queer Muslims in London. Over the past year, we went from just 3 members to over 20. The demand for our space is growing, yet there are not enough funds to support this. Here, you can find testimonials from LQMA members.
Your donations will go to:
- Purchasing food and drink for LQMA social events and meetings
- Honoraria for members’ time and commitment to event planning
- Other costs associated with event planning or expanding our safe space
