My name is Delaneo, and this is the story of how my girlfriend Elana and I are rebuilding our lives—together. I met Elana during the last six months of my incarceration. Even in one of the hardest seasons of my life, God allowed love, hope, and purpose to grow. Since my release, life has not been easy. Over the past five months, we have experienced homelessness, uncertainty, and constant pressure—but we never stopped pushing forward. Today, we are doing everything in our power to change our future. I am currently enrolled in barber school, learning new skills and investing in myself. I also work hard every day through the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), staying committed to honest work and self-improvement. In addition, I cut hair Monday through Friday from 5:00–8:00 PM at Urban Barber College, using my God-given talent to earn income and serve my community. Elana is a hard-working nail technician, dedicated to her craft and to building a stable future with me. We are grateful to share that we have applied for an apartment and have been approved. This is a huge milestone for us, but we need help covering the remaining move-in costs so we can finally have a safe place to call home. We are asking for donations of any amount to help us: • Secure our first apartment together • Cover move-in and basic living expenses • Purchase essential work and living supplies We are not just asking for help—we are committed to earning our way forward. We believe in using our God-given talents and strong work ethic to build something lasting. Our hearts are especially passionate about helping the homeless community, and once we are stable, we plan to give back and support others walking the path we know so well.
