My name is Sabir Abdusshaheed, and I started Sabir in the Making because I saw too many talented young people around me lose direction simply because no one showed them what was possible. Growing up, basketball was more than a game for me — it was structure, discipline, and a safe place to grow. But what truly inspired me was realizing that mentorship mattered just as much as the sport itself. I’ve experienced loss, struggle, and moments where guidance could have changed everything. Those experiences taught me that youth don’t just need opportunities — they need someone who believes in them consistently. That’s why I created Sabir in the Making: to be the person I once needed. Through basketball, I teach leadership, accountability, confidence, and purpose. My goal isn’t just to build athletes — it’s to build strong young men and women who understand their value and their responsibility to their community. This journey is personal for me. Every tournament, every conversation, every mentorship moment is about turning potential into purpose. Sabir in the Making is more than a name — it’s a mission. Through community tournaments and mentorship, I create spaces where young people can compete, grow, and believe in something bigger than themselves. These events are not just about sports. They support humanitarian causes, uplift our communities, and remind our youth that their future matters. I am building this from the ground up, and this GoFundMe will help cover gym rentals, equipment, travel, outreach, and youth programming. Your support isn’t just a donation — it’s an investment in purpose, leadership, and generational impact. Thank you for believing in Sabir in the Making.
