Half of my grandmother’s home was destroyed in less than a few days in order to build a larger road from San Salvador to El Puerto. El Salvador is going through a huge gentrification/ “modernization” at the expense of its communities, primarily the indigenous communities that live off the land. My grandmother has lost the land that feeds her and the only home she has known. They demolished her home without warning and has refused to compensate her. Our plan is to rebuild a home for my grandmother that is accessible and safe for her. We are grateful for any help that we can get. Sending love to everyone
