My name is Anthony, and I own Opia Homes. We build homes in the Charlotte, NC area. Our family would love to raise money this year to build a home for someone in need. In the past, we have done something similar, raising money for a homeless family for Christmas—but rather than stopping at presents, we raised enough money for them to move into stable housing and get them a reliable vehicle to get them to work.

This year, we want to go bigger! The details are still being ironed out, but our initial thought was targeting a women's shelter for potential recipients. Before we do that, we wanted to see if it would even be possible to make this happen given the size of the donations we would need. This is where the GoFundMe comes into play. We want to be as transparent as possible, providing video progress updates, etc. We plan on doing something special on the wall of the garage for anyone who donates over $500.
