In May 2026, we had the incredible opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic with Live Different through our school. During our trip, we worked alongside local families, volunteers, and community members to help build a safe home for a family in need.

That experience changed the way we see the world. We saw firsthand how something as fundamental as a safe home can transform a family’s future. A home is more than just walls and a roof — it provides stability, comfort, and a foundation for families to grow and thrive.

One moment from our trip that stayed with us was a conversation with a young girl who shared something she had wanted for a long time: a mirror for her family’s home. At first, it seemed like such a small request, but we quickly realized how meaningful it was to her. It reminded us that every family’s needs and dreams matter, whether they seem big or small, and we were grateful to be able to make that wish come true.

At the same time, we also witnessed the challenges many families in the community face, including barriers to resources, healthcare, and other basic necessities. These experiences showed us that creating healthier communities starts with listening, understanding, and supporting people in the ways they truly need.

Inspired by this experience, we are creating a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to promoting physical, mental, and overall well-being. Through educational content and community initiatives, we hope to encourage healthier lifestyles while continuing to support organizations that create meaningful change.

That is why we are raising funds for Live Different. Every donation will help support their mission of building stronger communities, providing safe housing, and creating opportunities for families in need.

Live Different is a Canadian charity that exists to inspire youth to live lives of compassion and service. Since 2000, they have spoken to more than 1.6 million youth in over 4,000 schools across Canada. Internationally, Live Different has completed more than 600 projects, including homes, schools, and medical clinics, helping communities around the world.
