Help Putnam Pride Build Safe, Joyful Community Spaces
Putnam Pride is a small, grassroots effort working to create safe, welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ people and allies in Putnam County, West Virginia. In a place where many queer folks—especially young people—can feel isolated, these gatherings help build connection, belonging, and support.
Our goal is to raise $4,000 for our annual programming, which will help us host community-centered events throughout the year, including:
• Pride Prom – a safe, affirming prom experience for LGBTQ+ youth
• Clothing Swaps – free events where people can donate and “shop” for clothes that help them feel like themselves
• Community celebrations and holiday gatherings – spaces to connect, celebrate, and build friendships
• Educational and speaking events – bringing thoughtful conversations to our community
• Craft nights and social gatherings – low-pressure opportunities to meet others and build community
Every dollar raised helps cover venue rentals, supplies, accessibility needs, decorations, food, and safety resources so that these events can stay low-cost or free for participants.
Putnam Pride is run by volunteers who believe our community deserves places where everyone can show up as they are and be welcomed.
If you’re able to contribute—even a small amount—you’re helping create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Thank you for helping us grow something meaningful here in Putnam County.
