Hi legends,
Thank you for taking the time to check out the Build Bali Better fund—this project is incredibly close to my heart, and I believe it will touch yours too.
My name is Jasmine Speers, and I work as a disability support worker. While traveling in Bali this past April, I learned about an orphanage that not only cares for vulnerable children but also supports those with disabilities. This hit home for me, so I had to see it for myself.
After raising a small amount from friends, I made the one-hour journey from Uluwatu to visit We Love Bali, the facility in question. I was welcomed by a team of dedicated nurses—warm, engaged, and passionate about the children in their care.
What I Saw & Why I’m Taking Action
The orphanage supports children aged 12 months to 12 years, and I was struck by the love, joy, and music-filled energy throughout the space. But I also noticed areas that urgently needed improvement—starting with the main room, which lacked even a ceiling fan.
These children spend most of their time indoors. A safer, more comfortable environment would make a world of difference. That’s when the idea came to me:

My Personal Pledge: $2,000
Tradespeople have already expressed interest in flying over to support the build, and I’ll be taking time off work to personally oversee the renovations.
Transparency matters: I’ll set up a public spreadsheet so you can see exactly where every dollar is going.
