Help us build a small backup energy system to keep our home safe

Hi everyone,

I normally would never ask for help like this, but I decided to try.

I live with my family in Germany, and over the past few years — especially after lockdowns and everything happening in the world — I’ve started to feel how dependent our daily life is on electricity.

Electricity today is not just light — it’s everything:

food, cooking, communication, heating, and basic safety.

I already managed to take a first step:

I bought a small power station (EcoFlow Delta) and a portable folding solar panel.

I am currently still paying them off over the next 6 months.

This setup already helps, and I will share real photos of it — but it is still not enough to reliably cover essential needs in case of outages or instability.

My goal is to build a simple and affordable backup system, not something luxurious:

- additional battery storage

- solar panels

- a smart meter to manage usage

I carefully selected the most affordable options available, using discounts and special offers, trying to keep everything as minimal as possible.

The total cost for this basic setup is around 1340€, which is currently beyond what I can afford — especially while still paying off the existing equipment.

I work in a social field, and my income is limited, but I’m trying to take responsibility for my family’s safety and stability.

That’s why I decided to try this:

if many people contribute even a small amount — 1€, 2€, 5€ — it can truly make a difference.
