I'm creating this page for a close friend. While I am supporting her in every way I can, she needs a community to come alongside her during this difficult transition. I truly believe it takes a village, and right now, she needs one. I'm hoping to share mine with her.

Asking for help is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

I am the mother of two incredible little girls, ages 4 and 6, and recently made the difficult decision to leave a situation that was no longer healthy for our family. While I know it was the right choice, starting over has been overwhelming, uncertain, and confusing.

For the past several years, I have dedicated myself to raising my daughters full-time. Now, I am working to rebuild from the ground up - finding stable employment, securing long-term housing, arranging childcare, addressing medical needs, and creating a safe, secure future for my children.

Right now, we have temporary housing and support from caring friends, for which I am deeply grateful. But as I search for work and strive to create independence, there are many immediate challenges ahead. Gas prices, childcare during the summer months, housing expenses, and basic necessities are all hurdles I am trying to overcome.

I know there is hard work ahead, and I am committed to doing everything I can to create a better life for my daughters and myself. What I need is a little breathing room - a chance to get back on my feet without the constant fear of falling behind.

My goal is not to rely on assistance long-term, but to create enough stability as I return to work to provide for my family, and build an independent future for my daughters.
