Beyond the Storm CIC was founded after my own life changing cancer journey

I'm Toni and in 2024 I was diagnosed with both bowel cancer and endometrial cancer following months of tests and scans and procedures and hospital appointments. I underwent major surgery, spent time in intensive care, suffered kidney failure complications and faced months of recovery, fear and uncertainty - much of it alone.

What I discovered during this time was that once treatment ends, many people are left feeling frightened, isolated and emotionally lost. Friends and family care deeply but unless someone has lived through cancer themselves and understands the fear of, "what if it comes back", it is incredibly hard for them to understand the anxiety, trauma and lasting emotional impact.

Beyond the Storm CIC is being created to change that.

Our mission is to build a supportive community for people recovering emotionally and physically after cancer treatment - a small, safe space where people feel heard, understood and supported by others who truly "get it".

We aim to provide peer support, wellbeing initiative's, smaller online community spaces and future events to help re-build confidence, connection and hope after cancer.
