Tax deductible
Housed Great Falls 501(c)3 is launching its plans to build a “tiny-home” transitional shelter community in Great Falls, MT. We will be raising funds to acquire at least 1/3 acre of land, 20 single occupancy shelters, service office, bathrooms and laundry, and community center. The site will be fenced and have controlled access through a main entrance. We are hopeful in raising $1.5 million project startup funds with launch pending funding in 2 years. We estimate $400,000 in yearly operating expenses which will cover 2-3 daily meals, 24/hour front desk attendant and case-management to support individuals in securing documents, navigating transition to housing, social services, and job assistance.Operating costs also includes other typical business expenses. Each individual shelter will cost $13,000 post upgrades of electricity, climate control, extra insulation for those cold Montana winters, and shipping. We will be using the transitional shelter products of a company called Pallet. Individuals served will include our unhoused and unsheltered community members in Great Falls!

In the mean time, we have organized a Cold Weather Drop-In where community members can get a hot meal and get out of the elements during chilly evenings hosted at the First United Methodist Church. In the 16 days we were open in January, we saw average attendance almost 24 guests per night.
