Amherst Island Radio has the go-ahead to move forward and build a 130' freestanding telecommunications tower on Amherst Island and boost the FM signal from 250 watts to 4,800 watts! This new signal boost will better serve all of Loyalist Township, Napanee, Kingston and the surrounding areas.
The new tower site costs $200,000 to build and setup, and it will stabilize the radio station transmitter and antenna for the next 20 years. The Board of Directors has been very judicious in the last few years and saved the majority of the funds for this transformative project. This funddrive's goal is the last remaining $70,000 to reach the finishing line!
Bonus: Kingston Online Services is partnering to place modern Internet broadcasting equipment on our new tower. So this will bring a fantastic new infrastructure improvement to the Internet services on the island. YEAH!
Help Amherst Island Radio reach the finish line! Donate today to this 100% volunteer-run radio station as it continues to operate as a non-profit organization for years to come.
