The Moment That Changed Everything

Back in the early 1990s, when my son was diagnosed with autism, it was almost impossible to find help.

I’ll never forget the moment the doctor called me to confirm his diagnosis.

I was sitting alone in the Safeway parking lot.

I broke down, crying my eyes out right there in my car.

In that moment, I made a vow:

I would do everything I could to help my son—and make sure no other parent had to struggle like I did.

At the time, there were only 34 books on autism in existence.

So I wrote my first book, "Little Rainman," to bring hope and information to families like mine.

Even before Google had a search engine, I created Autism Today as a "search and list" tool to connect parents and professionals with the support they needed.

Now, we’re taking that vision even further.
