Help Go Green bring Sustainable Solutions in Nakivale

Hi, I am Elijah Astute, a Congolese refugee based in Uganda Nakivale Refugee Resettlement.

Since 2016, I have been working on various projects based on empowering the livelihood of refugees in Nakivale and host communities, but the situation has gone beyond control and I believe we're in need of your help.

Due to political unrest, environmental catastrophes, and economic instabilities, millions of families are getting forced to flee their home countries to look for refuge in Nakivale camp. The situation is becoming worse due to ongoing wars in neighboring countries, and Nakivale is receiving a lot of refugees daily. Hunger and malnutrition are becoming rampant as World Food Program has decided to decrease the food ration to $4 monthly.

Go Green Social Initiative is a non-governmental organization based in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Uganda. We empower refugees and host communities through sustainable programs like permaculture design principles, organic farming, and mushroom cultivation, giving families in Nakivale the skills and resources they need to fight hunger, earn income, and restore hope.

In the past years we have been able to empower 225 women with permaculture skills, 500 orphans from 3 orphanages, and 125 women with mushroom farming skills. Countless people benefit from our new community solar powered wifi project we have just introduced.
