Hi my name is Mansour,
I run a business in Sydney, one of my staff based in the Phillipines brought to my attention a neighbour that she passes by in her community that she wanted to help.
We are reaching out with a simple request - to come together and help rebuild a safe home for this family.
Right now, they are living in a space no larger than 5 by 6 feet and resembles something that you and I would store a lawnmower in. It is cramped, fragile, and offers almost no protection from the elements. Their bedding is worn and threadbare, more like rags than something a family should sleep on. When it rains, floodwater enters their home - sometimes rising as high as their waists - leaving them to endure days in wet, unsafe conditions.
Despite working hard and doing everything they can, their income is simply not enough to improve their living situation. Without help, this is the reality they will continue to face.
The family consists of:
Father: Judy Jhon Rubez (29)
Mother: Raisa (22) - has 10 siblings who lives adjacent to them in similar conditions
Son: Jhonrey (3)
We are asking for your support to change that. To help build them a home that is safe, elevated, and secure.
A home that gives them dignity.
A home where they feel seen, supported, and cared for.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings them one step closer to a safer life.
They live on $6-8 a day so coming up with the money required to build them a house is near impossible.
Estimated costs:
Metal Cladding Bahay Kubo
Whole house: 70,000 PHP (original estimate: 85,000 PHP)
Cement Posts & stairs: 6 posts to elevate the house, ensuring
safety from flooding
Materials & Labour:10,000 PHP
Electrical Wiring & Labour: 2,000 PHP
Miscellaneous / Contingency: 2,000 PHP
Beddings: Pillows, blankets, mattress – 3,000 PHP
Groceries / Rice: 5,000 PHP
This equates to 2.5k AUD of which I will make the first donation of $500. We will keep everyone up to date with the house build and photos/videos as well as a video from the family.
