Build entire school in Tanzania

We are in Tanzania volunteering at a children's school in the heart of Arusha.

The kids are really the happiest little humans we have ever come into contact with but we learnt that these kids basically have nothing, some are orphans with no parents, some with single parents with no money or time to look after them, and this litterally leaves some of these kids ages 1-5 walking the streets unsupervised in this town. They don't even know how to communicate. It's so moving because they are just kids. We think about how dependant we were as kids and we just can't be here without changing something.

To our surprise, we can make a huge change with 7000e. Money clearly goes a long way here, the community leader who we are working with, James, told us that he is building a school / community building that will house, feed & school these children for only 7K. Honestly our instant reaction was that number is achievable through our network alone. This is not a "Donate 2e to some random charity and hope it will have an impact", no. This is Jake and Paula here directly on the ground about to change the lives of hundreds of kids in this community. 

This fund raising needs to be done NOW. Whilst we are here we will go to the building location where they have already bought the land and built a parameter. They hope to be built and operational Jan 22. The money will go directly to PMGY volunteering company who we are working with, they will drive the building process and will provide volunteers and workers to teach the children. The smart thing here is that we were told schools / buildings like this get built but they fail to run as a business because the rely on donations to stay alive. Covid for example has limited funding to volunteering areas and crippled businesses dependant on generosity of others. Community leader, James, will provide a dedicated work and training space especially for single unemployed mothers to produce items to sell (chickens, eggs, garments etc) at the premises, to pay for this school to work independently from donation once built.

We are here to teach children and provide them knowledge to grow into the world and give them access and insights into our lives that they would otherwise not learn. 

We are going to climb 1 of the 7 summits, Kilimanjaro. We are doing our tour through the same volunteer company and a percentage of our fee to climb (thousands) will go directly to the school project.
