Hello! We are Woman Life Freedom Edinburgh, a collective of professionals, academics, activists, and artists based in the city. We want to share our vision for the future, along with the brave stories of resistance, love, and everyday life from the incredible women of Iran.
Over three years ago, these Iranian women ignited one of the most successful civil movements of our time, and today, they face unprecedented violence and complex political crossfire.
The people of Iran want the dignity of living in a free, inclusive, secular, and democratic society, dismantled of its theocracy. They demand an end to the state's machinery of killing and repression, the right to determine their own future without foreign interference, and the freedom to build a country committed to justice, human rights, and gender equality.
At this critical moment, the Iranian people are facing two twinned dangers:
- Fascist warmongers who are attempting to wipe out an ancient country's history and future.
- A brutal theocratic regime that shuts down the internet at every opportunity to commit all forms of atrocities in silence.
