I'm raising money for my friend M, a loving and wonderful friend and mother who just fled an abusive relationship and needs our help to start a new chapter.

I met M when she arrived in the US several years ago from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the beginning of our relationship, I was her translator, but now M can speak English for herself. I am in awe of how hard she has worked to make a new life and a good home for her children here. She is brave and resilient and I'd like to make things a little easier for her.

M and her four kids are safe in their new apartment, and M does have a job, but the family has been through a really tough time. Starting from nothing is a huge challenge. They don't have much of a support network where they are, and we all know how easily bills pile up and how there are always unexpected expenses. With your help, I'd like to build a small emergency fund for M and her family to help them weather this transition.
