Build a Better Athlete Program

My name is Richard Symister, and I am the owner of Movevolution Physical and Performance Therapy in New Britain, CT.

I was the first Black male to graduate from Simmons College Graduate School of Physical Therapy in Boston, MA. That was 30 years ago. Since then, my clients have become folks who move for a living and love to move --- runners, cyclists, weekend warriors, CrossFitters, MMA, dancers, and performing artists.

My career had me working in New York for the past 20 years. I now live in Central Connecticut, where I have a new opportunity to work with high schools, colleges, and professional athletes who care about the long-term health of their bodies.

As part of our Performance Therapy: Build a Better Athlete program, MovEvolution wants to purchase the 3 pieces of spectacular equipment (see below) for the New Britain Boys and Girls Club of New Britain.

I will donate these items, as well as my time, to train the directors and participants on how to use the equipment. The Grip Tester, Y-Balance Test kit, and Functional Movement Screening kit are all excellent tools to:
  • screen for injury risk
  • confirm an athlete's readiness for performance

This account will be to match a $2,000 GoFundMe Celebrate Black Joy Grant Program.

Thank you in advance for your gift!

Move. Heal. GIVE BACK. Evolve.
