Hello, my name is Caleb, the founder of The World Within, a grassroots CIC based in Greenwich using art and safe spaces to support 16-25 year olds with trauma identity, and emotional expression. We aim to run inclusive Creative events (Free and low-cost) where young people can be seen heard and supported.

Why is it important and needed?

1 in 5 young people in London face mental health challenges. Yet nearly 40% of all those referred for help in 2022-23 had their case closed before receiving support. Barriers like stigma, wait times, and financial hardship hit marginalised youth hardest. thats the gap we aim to fill.

impact isn't just numbers, its emotional. We want participants to leave feeling more expressive, more connected, and more emotionally resilient.

Journals and drop-ins become long-term tools. Not just one offs.

Timeline?

We're getting everything in place - Safeguarding, journaling materials, and small hires. In November 2025, We launch the first pilot events, with drop-ins continuing through December.

This helps us build a tested, youth-led model ready to grow.

Budget/ Where your money goes?

Every pound you contribute helps us build a safe, inclusive and creative space for young people aged 16–25 in Greenwich. Here's how the £5,000 will be spent:

Creative Healing Events – £1,200

To run 4–6 free, trauma-informed creative sessions, covering venue hire, artist/facilitator fees, and art materials.

Healing Art Journal – £600

To design and print 30 pilot copies of our reflective journal, along with investing in creating new products & packages. co-created with young people, and offered at events or online.

Safeguarding & First Aid Training – £300

To ensure our team is fully trained to work safely and responsibly with young people, including those navigating trauma.

Volunteer Support & Refreshments – £300

To cover travel and food costs for volunteers who help make our spaces welcoming and supportive.

Insurance – £200

To cover essential public liability and event insurance so we can safely operate in community spaces.

Website & Digital Tools – £200

To create a website, manage bookings, and share our work through visual storytelling and blogs.

Outreach & Promotion – £500

To print flyers, run social media ads, and get the word out so that young people and their families know we exist.

Session Storytelling – £400

To document our journey through photography and video, creating powerful content to show our impact and attract long-term funders.

Branding & Visual Identity – £300

To refine our logo, session materials, and journal design so we present ourselves with the care our community deserves.

CIC Registration & Admin – £100

To legally register The World Within as a Community Interest Company and manage basic operations.

Contingency Fund – £400

To support unexpected costs such as participant needs, last-minute venue changes, or printing top-ups.
