Build a waterproof roof for a school in Malawi
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mike and I am helping the MUTU organization, which is a small group of people living in the refugee camp trying to raise money for the school and food for people in need. It's a long story how I got involved with this camp, but now that I have seen what I have seen and heard what I have heard, it isn't something I was able to overlook. So I have decided to help them with the planning and now funding, of a new roof for the school.
MUTU is run locally by Namad, a resident of 10 years who is a refugee from the Congo who is doing everything he can to establish and look after the local school in the camp. This includes building infrastructure, hiring teachers and sourcing content for the children and adults to learn.
After being introduced to Namad through a friend, I have been speaking to him and have built a long lasting relationship, he is one of the most genuine, appreciative people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and he has now reached out and asked for my help.
The school has 4 classrooms, each needing a new roof, they are currently built with nothing more than sticks and dried grass, and needs to be replaced with sheet metal in time for the rainy season (beginning in November).
The estimate for the entire construction is MK 2,000,000 or 1,728 USD, and so I am reaching out to my network to ask for donations.
If you do choose to donate, the funds would be deposited to me and I would transfer directly to Namad, who runs the Organization and 100% of the funds would go towards the roof project, I have been working with Namad for a little while now and I trust him, he always sends me photos of the proof of where the money is going, we could keep you updated on the progress if you would be interested.
This truly is a scenario where every dollar counts, so even small donations will go a long way.
Thank you very much,
Mike
