I am reaching out to ask for your support in building a much-needed school and clinic for a rural community in Liberia. This project is deeply personal to me, as it will carry on the legacy of my father, Alfred Makor, who passed away this year. My father was a strong, selfless man who dedicated his life to uplifting his community, with a special passion for education and healthcare.
When he lived in Liberia, he would collect medicines to distribute to rural communities with no access to medical resources. It was his dream to provide better care and opportunities for those in need.
In addition to his work in providing medical resources to underserved areas, my father was fiercely passionate about education. One of his favorite sayings was to encourage students to “eat the book”—to become so immersed in learning that they would reach their full potential. He believed deeply in the transformative power of education.
To honor his memory, these funds will go towards a dual purpose - building a community medical clinic & building a school where children in this community will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
Over the past 10 years, I have launched multiple fundraisers that have provided scholarships for over 50 students in Liberia, supported more than 10 teachers in the country, and helped 20+ students in the US. This new initiative to build a school and clinic is an extension of the work I am so passionate about.
Together, we can make a lasting impact on this community and continue my father's mission of giving back. Any contribution you can make will help us get closer to our goal of bringing education and healthcare to those who need it most.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity <3
