Our family has had a special place in our hearts for Costa Rica for over 8 years. We fell in love with the nature, the kind-hearted Costa Ricans, the Pura Vida vibes, and so much more.

In Costa Rica, my friend and cleaning lady is a single mom to four girls aged 12, 10, and 6-year-old twins. The monthly minimum wage in Costa Rica is $697.00 per month. That is less than $24.00 per day.

Kim and her girls currently live in a rental house that leaks and floods for 4 months each year during the rainy season.

I planned to get each girl a gift for Christmas... then my wheels started turning to see if I had friends, and they had friends, and we could all generously give a little to help make a big impact on this family, not only for Christmas.

The girls did not ask for much... a Barbie doll, a baby doll, roller skates, and a makeup kit... But I thought we could do more! We are beyond blessed with homes that do not leak or flood... and so much more.

The plan is to build a humble 2-bedroom, 700-square-foot home that will cost approximately $16,600. We have reviewed the plans and the budget. All the details are in line, and the home can be built in approximately 6 weeks. $4,000 was already donated, so we only need $12,600!
