Build a ramp and accessible toilets for our hut
on Saturday 21st June we will undertake the ultimate fundraising challenge- a 24 hour playathon! It will be tough for sure! Will we make it?!
As a registered charity, we are always trying to find ways that we can give back to our community, but unfortunately we have a huge stumbling block in our way- our lovely riverside premises, being very old, are not currently accessible to all, which is a real shame! So that we can make sure EVERYONE is welcome we are looking into creating a wheelchair friendly entrance and accessible toilet facilities which we currently do not have. We are in the early stages, have had an architect out to have a look, but we need to initially raise some money to have the plans drawn up? Can you help? Even just a couple of quid would be hugely appreciated. Once we have the plans drawn up we can proceed with applying for grants and funding to actually have the work done, but we can’t do this without the initial plans which allow us to calculate a total cost for the project. We have people who would love to visit but being wheelchair users they can’t currently get in so this is so important. We have been quoted £1600 to have the plans drawn up so we hope to help raise some of that here.
The band is so important to its members, and we want to be able to welcome more people. But don't take our word for it. Here are some of members speaking about the band has impacted their life.
