Help Us Build a Playground for Generations of Banneker Students

For nearly 30 years, The Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School has done more than educate children. We have inspired them, encouraged them, comforted them, and helped them believe in themselves. Every day, Banneker is a place where children thrive.

As a K1 through Grade 6 STEM school, Banneker was founded on the belief that all students can achieve academic excellence regardless of race, socioeconomic status, culture, native language, gender, or sexual orientation. Our dedicated educators integrate science, technology, engineering, mathematics, language, and fine arts to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Today, we are excited to begin a new chapter.

After years of serving students in temporary spaces, Banneker has moved into its permanent home. This milestone represents stability, growth, and opportunity for our students and families. Now, we need your help creating something that will impact our students for generations to come.

This fall, we plan to build a beautiful new playground at our new campus—a space where children can play, explore, develop social skills, and create lifelong memories. While we have secured funding for a portion of the project, we must raise $90,000 toward the total $200,000 cost to make this vision a reality.

A playground is more than equipment. It is a place where friendships are formed, confidence is built, imaginations grow, and children learn through play. It will be a space that serves thousands of Banneker students for years to come.

Imagine our students arriving at their new campus this October and seeing a playground built because an entire community came together to support them. Years from now, children will still be climbing, laughing, learning, and making memories because of the generosity of people who believed they deserved the very best.

No gift is too small. Every donation brings us one step closer to creating a safe, engaging, and inspiring outdoor space for our students.

Please consider making a contribution and sharing this campaign with your family, friends, colleagues, and networks. Together, we can build a playground that reflects the strength, hope, and future of the Banneker community.

Thank you for believing in our students and helping us create a lasting legacy for generations to come.
