Our Story
In 2025, we made our first visit to Kisole Primary School in Uganda with Abanna Ministries. We arrived with paintbrushes and good intentions and we left with something far greater than we could have anticipated. We painted the school, yes. But what we gained in return was perspective, humility, and a community that changed us forever.
This isn't white middle-class children flying out to save the world. This is a group of young people who went to Uganda thinking they had something to give and came home realising how much they had received. The community at Kisole taught us more about resilience, joy, generosity, and what truly matters in life than any classroom or curriculum ever has. We have carried those lessons back into our own communities, and they have made us better people.
But we want to do more. Because seeing it with your own eyes changes everything.
The Reality at Kisole
Many of the children at Kisole Primary School walk up to 4 hours each day, there and back, just to get an education. Let that sink in. Four hours. In heat. On empty stomachs. Because they know that school matters.
The youngest pupils, the nursery-aged children, currently have no proper, dedicated space to learn in. No safe, clean, fit-for-purpose classroom to call their own. These are children as young as three and four years old beginning their educational journey and they deserve to begin it with dignity.
What We're Building
We have partnered with Abanna and Kisole Primary School and are working to fund and build a brand new, purpose-built nursery classroom, a safe, hygienic, and welcoming space where the youngest learners can thrive.
Your donation will fund:
- Full construction of a dedicated nursery classroom
- Proper sanitation and facilities fit for young children
- Furnishings, learning materials, and equipment
- A lasting legacy that will serve generations of children to come
Why This Matters
Every child deserves access to the same quality of education and resources. The children of Kisole are no different, they are bright, curious, determined, and full of potential. The only difference is circumstance.
We are not here to be saviours. We are here as partners, as friends, and as people who were welcomed into an extraordinary community and feel a genuine responsibility to give something meaningful back.
The community of Kisole gave us more than we could ever repay. But we are going to try.
Please Help Us
£38,000 will build something permanent. Something that will stand long after we are gone. Something that will give hundreds of nursery-aged children a proper start.
Please donate whatever you can. Share this page. Tell your friends. Because this community, this remarkable, resilient, generous community, deserves it.
