I come from a background rich in traditions, where the mosque was more than just a place of worship; it was a sanctuary, a community hub, and a source of strength. Here in Sarpsborg, I found a wonderful town, but I also found myself missing that vital piece of my life.

For years, I and many others have been gathering wherever we could — in rented halls, small living rooms, even outdoors. These spaces have served us well, but they are not enough. There’s something special about stepping into a mosque, feeling the sacredness of the space, hearing the call to prayer echo through a room built for that very purpose. I long for a place where my children can learn about our faith, where families can come together, and where we can all feel a deep sense of belonging.
