Build a classroom for Suluhisho in Kenya
In October, Em & Ivy are going a volunteer trip to Kenya to help build a classroom for a children's village run by dear friends of Em's.
Just outside of Kisumu, in a small village called Kapunja, a community
school was set up by Jacinta Ojwang, and her husband Antipas (who is from Kapunja). They now run a charity organisation called Suluhisho to keep this school and other projects going.
The school population has grown to 100 children and this number has outgrown the current facilities. Our group of volunteers will help to build another classroom - offering better facilities and resources for current students and allowing for more spaces in the school for community children.
We’ll be working alongside the local community to plant a food forest, work on classroom construction, assist with the mobile library that is run in the slums, work in the preschool, help in the kitchen, and set up sporting, art and drama activities for school and community children.
We are fundraising for the materials & resources needed for these projects and would love you to help us reach our goal - THANKYOU xox
