Build a 2nd hand PC for my 77 year old neighbour

My 77-year old neighbour has been using flight simulators for almost 30 years now, where he meets up with people on Teamspeak and fly routes together. He's genuinely one of the nicest people I've met, a

His hardware is pretty outdated, and he's a tad upset that he can't join his fellow mates in MS Flight Simulator 2020 - he mainly plays Lockheed Martin Prepar3D V5. He's genuinely one of the nicest people I've met, but the guy doesn't have a ton to spend unfortunately. So I want to return the favor updating his beloved #1 hobby - his simulator rig. He did mention planning on buying a larger monitor this year, but that a completely new PC is out of reach for him financially.

That's why I want to gift him something nice, without absolutely breaking the bank. I was planning on getting something second hand, around €600 or so (The Netherlands - $1 is pretty much equal to €1). I'm not in a hurry and don't mind waiting for some deals - getting the best value for everyones money & reducing E-waste.

I will build the PC as a surprise, and give it to him as soon as I can.

Any donation is hugely appreciated. I will make up the difference if the goal isn't met, but will also chime in a few hundred euro regardless of the amount raised.
