January 2020: OUR VERY FIRST PROJECT: The Buhler Family
Neighbors helping neighbors.
Humanity is the human race, which includes everyone on Earth. The word humanity is from the Latin humanitas for "human nature, kindness.” Humanity includes all the humans, but it can also refer to the kind feelings humans often have for each other.
Project Plan- Ashley has been called by God to help the Buhler family and plans to do just that. The Nelson family hopes to have the help of our amazing community to make a difference in this family's lives. Now more than ever is a time to come together and do great things for great people. Let's get to it Solon Springs! Ultimately, we would like to provide a safe place for this family to live. We aren't exactly sure how yet, but God will provide.
Buhler Family Story-
Billy, Kelly and Wyatt Buhler are a loving family of three living in the Village of Solon Springs. They currently live in a trailer that does not support their needs or safety.
Kelly suffers from Spina Bifida.
(a congenital cleft of the spinal column with hernial protrusion of the meninges and sometimes the spinal cord). When Kelly was 12 she had to make a difficult decision. She was either to never walk again, or deal with having her lower extremity amputated. She now has a prosthetic leg on her right and wears a brace on her left lower extremity. As if this wasn't enough, Kelly was told she would never be able to carry a child. So, when she found out she was carrying a child, he was instantly considered their "miracle baby". His name is Wyatt.
Wyatt was diagnosed with Autism in 2012. In November he was diagnosed with ADHD. Kelly states that he does not let these labels stand in his way but he does have struggles he has to overcome daily. School has always been something they continue to navigate due to social anxiety.
Kelly is not able to work so Billy provides for their family. Billy was also diagnosed with Autism 20 years ago. Billy was working at Walmart but wanted to get closer to home. He now holds a position at our local Dollar General. He is known for "giving the shirt off his back if someone needed it" according to Kelly.
This family is deserving and needs our help. Please be a part of this cause. Monetary donations, labor or time in any fashion will be accepted. Please step up and reach out to help. This family did not ask for help, God has called to give it.
